First: I will not exchange a custom item for an item that was purchased and the customer is unhappy with. If you don't like it, it's getting returned for a refund. Period.
Second: if you request a custom work and it is done to your specifications, and you simply 'don't like it', there is no refund. It's what you ordered, it's what you get.
I hate to do this, seriously, but the necessity for these details are because of a single individual who is now attempting to screw me out of my money and get a black mark on my vendor site. The guy bought a pair of bracers, wore the bracers, and then returned them a month later. He then said "Make this right. I'd hate to give you a bad review. You do such beautiful work." His gripe? He didn't like the natural flaw in the leather itself.
Being the nice guy that I am, I allowed him to return them, and I got his measurements to make him a custom pair. In addition, he commissioned some custom work to be done on these bracers. That's fine, I don't mind, and it gives me a chance to make some extra money (In theory).
I completed the bracers and mailed them out over two weeks ago. He's now e-mailing me, asking where the bracers are. When it's all said and done, he'll probably claim that I never sent the bracers and demand his money back.
In the end, after paying to re-ship the bracers, I've already LOST money, and now I'll probably lose MORE money than what I initially sold the bracers for AND have some of my work stolen.
