Description

The viking board game Hneftafl or "King's Table". The game is played by two people. The blue pieces are attempting to capture the king (The red pyramid in the center) while the king himself is trying to get to one of the corners and "Escape". The king and his men are outnumbered 2 to 1, thus making the game rather challenging.

Not cost effective to make the board out of leather? Sure it is. As long as you have a good marketing strategy.

1. Set up a craft booth at an appropriate festival or art show
2. Make leather cylindrical cases for the games
3. Make fancy-looking rule booklets on fancy paper that also explain the history behind the game
4. Have one of these booklets sitting out on a card table with a display version of the game.
5. Get a charismatic friend to dress as a viking and loudly challenge passers-by to play against the undefeated [insert amusing viking name and title here]

You'd have a month's worth of backorders no matter how much you charged!
