Artist's Comments

The finished Northman Bracers. Hand crafted from 8 oz leather, these bracers have a Thor's Hammer emblazoned on the surface with a tooled trinity knot on the decorative edging. The lacing holes are reenforced with antiqued brass eyelets and the entire piece is sealed with Mink Oil.

Details of the Knotwork can be seen here: [link]

Nice contrast between the red and natural leather. The knotwork does feel more Celtic to me. (being partially Scottish and all, living in Sweden atm)

[link] will hopefully illustrate what I mean.

Still a very nice job done though. I am just a nitpicker ;)

Damn you Aquascum!
Heh. I know that the knotwork is more celtic inspired, but it felt right for the piece. I did runes on the Mjolnir Bracers and it looked alright, but they didn't get a single bid when I tried to sell them. :(

hmm, one needs to of course find the right crowd.
Why do you sell through ebay? Why not make your own website and sell them that way? Ebay tends to have a high rate of things that never get sold

I personally like the items you make, but as a student with two children I am in no position to splurge out.
Try to find LARP webrings and egroups, as a way to expand your contact net. (provided you haven't done so already).

Nice work :) By the way, as =Airgid says, a web site is a good way to go.

I have an etsy site but I have yet to get any purchases from it. I tend to sell on eBay when I need to purchase new materials. I do need to expand to making connections with the SCA. I'm going to an event that the local one is having and I'm talking with another group in Ohio. I'm not sure that I'm ready for Pennsic, yet, though.

Well, I have an etsy site, but advertising said site tends to be the issue. I just need to make some more contacts, I guess.

There's a fine line between art and crap. That line lies within the viewer. The artist tries for art, but if all he achieves is crap, then he needs to try again.
